Now on the New Year’s Eve we hear the sounds of explosions all over Ukraine. No, they are not from fireworks we used to enjoy before the war, they are from Russia’s deadly weapons. This is how destruction sounds for us on the last day of 2022. This is how murder sounds for us. This is how death sounds for us now.

The first news about killed and wounded already come from different regions, and the sky over Kyiv, the heart of Ukraine, was covered with missiles an hour ago.

We have one cherished desire for the next year — to end this war forever. We don’t count on miracles — there will be fight, and we, supported by the free world, will put in place Russia and its war criminals.

For the sake of celebrating New Year, not dying on it.
