According to Le Parisien, the police issued a statement forbidding alcohol as of noon tomorrow. This will probably be limited to public spaces but we'll know more later this evening.

Hospitals are saturated and people are suffering heatstroke from simply being outside.

Fête de la Musique 2026: Alcohol & Seine Gatherings

Due to a severe heatwave alert (orange/red), the Paris Police Prefecture has issued an emergency decree restricting alcohol and gatherings during today’s Fête de la Musique to prevent dehydration and public disorder.

Key Restrictions
🚫 Alcohol Ban: Consumption, possession, and transport of alcohol are prohibited on public roads overnight from Sunday to Monday.

🚫 No Glass: All beverages in glass containers are banned.

🚫 High-Risk Zones: Alcohol is strictly forbidden on the quays of the Seine and Canal Saint-Martin.

🚫 Gathering Ban: Loitering on the banks of the Seine is entirely prohibited due to elevated drowning risks.

⚠️ Penalties/Fine: Violators will face a fourth-class fine of €135.

This weekend, on Sunday, June 21, the annual Fête de la Musique happens. Musicians, DJs and more will be playing throughout the city.
