Yogurt Frozen instead of Frozen Yogurt? Say what??

Here's what we mean: frozen yogurt brand, Cloud 9, took to the clouds to freeze their yogurt in this innovative campaign…

Talk about bringing "all things digital" together: the blogosphere, video, social media, all working cohesively to personalize a brand experience. Who wouldn't want to boast on Twitter about a bucket of frozen yogurt frozen in the sky with your name on it, and delivered straight to your door afterwards?

Instagram is yet another social medium that is becoming business-friendly. Heard about their new tagging options? It allows User A to tag User B, allowing User B to potentially share that photo with their audience if they decide to post to their feed. The result? An exponential increase in audience, and the potential to go viral.

This new development is certainly consumer-friendly, allowing people to engage with other more directly. But we have a suspicion this new product development was specifically so that big brands could gain visibility.

And why not? Social Media SHOULD be used for businesses, as long as it's ethical, community-oriented and NOT solely to push the brand.

These days when lines of the digital and real worlds are diminishing, businesses are starting to take their social media to a whole new level.

Budweiser, using bluetooth technology in their "Buddy Cups" allows you to become friends on Facebook every time you cheers your glass of beer with a fellow party-er.

Way to go Budweiser! What a genius way to make social media tangible, and not just something we do behind the computer screen. We wonder how many people will be keen to give away their personal details while boozing?

Hopefully a lot. Relating digital marketing to real life is the next step in this infusion of technology into every minute of our lives.

At Big Fish, it's a challenge we face often, and meet with fervor and creativity.

Don't be such a baby! Unless, of course, you're featured in Evian's new Baby & Me campaign. Take a watch..

The campaign features not only these cute ads, but an app where users are able to create very own baby version of…themselves!

Much like the recent Dove campaign, Evian has succeeded in engaging consumers in their brand without actually TALKING about their brand. No self-promotion here, or touting of more pure, fresh water. It's just about entertaining.

And as a result, we engage with the campaign, and ultimately engage with the brand.

An exceptional story where, thanks to social media, "the old and boring" becomes: "the new hip".

Ball Mason Jars, a 125 year old brand, was up until recently not doing well in the marketplace. But after re-allocating marketing dollars to social media and event marketing, as opposed to an ad in the standard cooking magazine, sales are up 20%.

Their Pinterest presence, particularly, has received lots of attention. And it's well-deserved: they've cunningly utilized the social medium to promote DIY ideas, for instance, how to turn a simple jar into a chandelier, air-freshener or bathroom accessory.

Way to go Ball! What a smart move. With social media and some creativity, results are big with relatively low financial expense.

As a part of our service offering, Big Fish manages writing blog posts for some of our clients. But, the number one goal is to represent them not through self-promotion, but through thought leadership, whereby we present a new perspective on a topic that incorporates points of view directly FROM the brand we're writing for.

Hiring digital content professionals is a smart move, as long as it's done ethically and strategically.
