🇮🇹🚀 The 2026 Summer School has officially begun in Rome!

For the next three weeks, students and young professionals from across Europe will come together to explore the future of space transportation through an immersive international learning experience.

Organised by Sapienza Università di Roma, AVIO, and the Community of Ariane Cities, this year’s edition focuses on the conceptual design of next-generation space transportation systems.

36 satellites on board: the most ever carried by an Ariane launcher in a single flight.
That brings the total to 100 Amazon Leo satellites deployed by Arianespace, in just 5 months.

This is mission 3 of 18 planned for the Amazon Leo constellation. The 8th flight of Ariane 6 overall, and the 3rd of 2026, the first ever using the upgraded P160C boosters.

Europe's launcher is scaling up. Fast.

1 hour and 51 minutes from liftoff to the last satellite separation. A new propulsion system flying for the first time. The heaviest Ariane payload ever. And a controlled deorbit at the end, leaving no debris in orbit.

VA269 lifts off this afternoon from Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, carrying 36 Amazon Leo satellites to low Earth orbit.

A few milestones to watch for:

Mission 3 of 18 for the Amazon Leo constellation. The first Ariane 6 flight with the upgraded P160C boosters. The heaviest payload ever launched by an Ariane launcher, 22 tons, 900 tonnes at liftoff.
