Check out this great work, a collaboration between two of our labs! Showing how larval zebrafish uses information coming from both eyes during prey capture.
An interhemispheric neural circuit allowing binocular integration in the optic tectum Zebrafish larvae can binocularly detect prey objects in order to strike but lack ipsilateral retinotectal fibers for binocular superposition of visual information. Here the authors describe commissural intertectal neurons and show that they are required for the initiation of capture strikes.
