Reuniwatt is offering worldwide wind and solar power forecasting services for optimized grid integration of intermittent renewable energies.

Wind and solar power production forecasts are necessary to manage the increasing share of variable renewable sources in the electricity mix.

🔹the intermittent nature of these renewable sources poses challenges for maintaining a stable electricity supply
🔹particularily for islands and microgrids they're crucial to balance local supply and demand precisely
🔹forecasts allow grid operators to take pre-emptive actions to maintain stability, especially during rapid changes in renewable generation
🔹accurate forecasts help minimize the need to curtail renewable energy production.

🌍 The DYVALOCCA Project has been observing the dynamics, variability and bioclimatic effects of low clouds over Western Equatorial Africa. The research consortium, co-led by Dr. Nathalie Philippon (CNRS researcher at IGE), has been developing the first conceptual model for low-cloud formation and dissolution for the region.💡Reuniwatt's infrared skycam Sky InSight™ has been set up onsite to follow the low cloud cover developing during the dry season.

🌍 Fekola Mine in Mali is powered by a hybrid offgrid solution. This move towards clean energy not only reduces the mine's carbon footprint, but also improves its energy security and counteracts the high costs (both environmental and financial) of fuel supply. 💡 Our forecasting suite continuously provides forecasts of the PV plant’s power output, using data from a locally installed all-sky imager Sky InSight™ and advanced satellite-to-irradiance technology.
