I wanted to hold Palestinian children in sound, a mother’s grief, the weight of losing a child, with Mahmoud Darwish speaking underneath, low, like a second heartbeat. No lyrics. Just ambient space wide enough for those stories to breathe on their own.
I grew up in Lebanon where my family built a wall around us made of nothing but love, so we never felt what was happening, only their arms. We stood still. We stood proud. Somehow that never broke.
Now the war has returned to Lebanon, and these tracks have become something else, a place to hold what my country carries now, and what Palestine has carried all along.
Since the start of the genocide, Israel has killed over 10% of the population of Gaza, more than 20,000 of them children.
Since March 2026, more than 4,300 people have been killed in Lebanon, hundreds of them children.
