👏 Thanks to my AVC colleague for an excellent presentation at the . Together with other EMA stakeholder groups, AVC presented the industry perspective since the implementation of the Veterinary Medicines Regulation 2019/6 one year ago. During the presentation, experiences were shared with EMA, other Regulators and the pharmaceutical industry about the challenges companies face to adapt to the new ways of working, especially with the new databases and IT systems (UPD, EVVET, IRIS) in place. Also in 2023, a continued, good collaboration between regulators and industry is required in order to see the benefits of the regulation.

European Medicines Agency highly appreciated AVC Association of Veterinary Consultants, AnimalhealthEurope and Access VetMed, as the most active stakeholders for their contribution and feedback, summarized in 2 reports presented on February 16-17.

🔵 800 attendees, including several AVC members
🔵 16 panelists and speakers from EMA and stakeholders, including one AVC speaker
🔵 10 presentations, including 2 with AVC participation
🔵 80 questions from participants, including 3 from AVC members

✅ Answering AVC's question about the format of the next veterinary info day 2024, EMA confirmed its intention and technical feasibility to hold it in F2F or hybrid mode. We are confident that this great networking opportunity, as well as the growing number of F2F meetings and workshops with stakeholders, will increase stakeholder engagement.

☘️ Great to start 2023 by expanding my regulatory experience with a new role as an Member of the EFSA Stakeholders Bureau (Practitioners) on behalf of the AVC Association of Veterinary Consultants. I would like to express my special gratitude to my predecessor, EU Food Chain Legislation Expert, for the support, appreciation of my work and for the recommendations:

💡The Stakeholder Bureau’s role is to advise European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) on stakeholder engagement and dialogue on issues in the Authority’s remit. It is made up of 7 representatives of EFSA’s stakeholder groups, including Practitioners’ associations - organizations representing professionals working in fields relevant to EFSA’s food safety and public health remit, such as medical doctors, dieticians, nurses, pharmacists and veterinarians.
