TOUR DU MONDE DU COLLECTIONNEUR : Arts d’Orient, de l’Inde et d’Afrique du Nord 🌍

Après l’Asie, cap sur l’Orient. Cette seconde partie de la vente ouvre les portes d’un Orient aux multiples visages. De l’Inde à l’Afrique du Nord, en passant par la P***e et le monde arabe, les œuvres présentées témoignent de la richesse des échanges, des traditions et des inspirations qui ont façonné ces grandes aires culturelles.
Elle réunit un important groupe de peintures indiennes provenant de la collection d’un diplomate en poste en Inde dans les années 1970, un remarquable sabre shamshir d’Arabie saoudite offert à Ali Aref Bourhan, homme d’État et ancien président du Conseil de gouvernement de Djibouti, ainsi qu’une sélection de peintures orientalistes. Des œuvres iraniennes de Qollar Aqasi et les compositions singulières de Baya viennent compléter ce parcours consacré aux regards, aux récits et aux imaginaires de l’Orient.

COLLECTOR’S WORLD TOUR : Oriental, Indian and North African arts 🌍

After Asia, this second part of the sale explores the many faces of the Orient. From India to North Africa, by way of Persia and the Arab world, the works presented reflect the richness of the exchanges, artistic influences, and cultural encounters that have shaped these regions.
The section brings together an important group of Indian paintings from the collection of a diplomat posted in India during the 1970s, a remarkable Saudi shamshir presented to Ali Aref Bourhan, statesman and former President of the Government Council of Djibouti, as well as a selection of Orientalist paintings. Iranian paintings by Qollar Aqasi and the vibrant, colourful, and poetic compositions of Baya, renowned for their bold palette and distinctive visual language, complete this journey through the stories, perspectives, and artistic expressions of the Orient.
