LES LIANES by Françoise Berlanger

Since 2019, we have had the opportunity to work with director Françoise Berlanger for her play Les Lianes. We create for Les lianes a structure in motion and in direct contact with actresses and musicians. The video is mixed live, the projection surface looks like an organic living being in motion.

Info : “Les Lianes” tells the story of a world that is dying and will be reborn in 350 years. A world where human beings in order to survive have fused with plants just as they had fused with consumerism towards the end. Les Lianes possess a sap, a juice that nourishes all kinds of roots, including “semi-se-mi” beings, women-plants, who, thanks to their themselves, to intertwine with these lianes, which like umbilical cords, nourish them.

It takes place, in the here and now, in theatre, where the two actresses in awe of frustration, literally melt into the lianes, into the heart of these gigantic plants, while the two video artists prefer lines of code … “the digital lianes”.

Le 21 octobre dernier, nous avons eu l'occasion de collaborer avec Robbing Millions dans le cadre du Festival Videodroom au Kunstencentrum Vooruit à Ghent.

Après une résidence de 5 jours sur place, nous avons pu réaliser une création vidéo 100% texturée aux couleurs acidulées, avec comme dispositif une we**am qui film en direct une composition miniature, qui est ensuite déstructurée en live.

Cette scénographie et création vidéo accompagne la superbe musique pop psychédélique de Robbing Millions.

🚩 A little throwback of what happened these last few weeks at La Balsamine Théâtre for a one-month residency building 𝓛𝓮𝓼 𝓛𝓲𝓪𝓷𝓮𝓼's play. Thrilled to be part of this adventure since 2018 now, many thanks to Françoise Berlanger who created and reunited all these ideas and people to form this strong Liana. We haven't been able to present the play yet due to 2020's way of life, but hopefully we will see you in April 🤍🌿
