HERALDING THE EVERYDAY, THE ONCE MUNDANE IS REDEFINED THROUGH PREMIUM FABRICATIONS, CREATING A COLLECTION OF ‘NOT-SO-BASIC’ BASICS. WORN ON THEIR OWN OR TOGETHER AS A MODULAR WARDROBE, EVERY PIECE IS OF UPMOST COMFORT WITHOUT COMPROMISING STYLE.
For its first capsule as part of SS21, Les Basics is proud to present a fresh perspective on the brand’s direction. Spurred on by the current climate, Les Basics has used this time to rethink their core values - creating a collection that is deliberately focused and concise.
Pieces are less concerned with trends or other transient distractions.
This harks back to an earlier and more honest time in the brand’s history, playing with texture and fabric combinations, form and functionality, all aligned within the framework of a very wearable garment dyed colour palette.
American sportswear has inspired some of the silhouettes, colluding cotton pique with an over- size quarterback Tee and snap front baseball shirt. A patch work cotton fleece jacket and gilet combination are a direct reference to pieces from Les Basics’ very first collection where both sides of the brushed and loop back fleece are used however they has been refreshed in bright and primary hues.

DEATH CI******ES

FINALLY there's a cigarette for people who can accept the addictive, carcinogenic, atherogenic, teratogenic, and other toxic effects of smoking—but who just can't tolerate being lied to.

By its very name, the manufacturer of "Death Ci******es" forthrightly declares what is being sold. No virile cowboys, slim-legged, "liberated" beauties, or supercool camels or penguins endorse this brand. The maker of what appears to be the first antismoking cigarette prefers to fly the Jolly Roger on its packaging and promotional materials.

In case the skull and crossbones isn't a clear enough message, the cigarette maker has added a written warning (in addition to the required US Surgeon General's warning): "MANUFACTURER'S ADVICE: Ci******es Are Addictive And Debilitating. If You Don't Smoke, Don't Start. If You Smoke, Quit."

Death Ci******es desirable charm to it even regarding the tone and name of the brand, the branding has been seen applied to a wide perspective of goods, form beer glasses to motorcycle sponsorships.

For SS21 Death ci******es is bringing back the vintage merchandise and goods that were sold in the 90’s-early 00’s, made with the finest loopback cotton and manufactrued in LA, Death Ci******es has that F**K you attitude that’s needed right now.

COMMON TRDE PRESENTS FOR SS21:
A NEW BRAND (a.k.a ANB ) 👀

Picture the scene if you will …It’s 33 degrees, the sun is hot and high not unlike the cool teens traversing Melrose and Fairfax - G-Funk is born and Cypress Hill are controlling the airwaves alongside Nirvana, Alice in Chains and The Smashing Pumpkins. Dangerous Liaisons is out at the movie theatres - Girls want to be Sarah Michelle Gellar post Buffy and guys think Ryan Phillipe is cool as f**k - jeans are big and logos are the thang - The Gonz, Jason Lee and Natas Kaupas are the s**t.

The desire for band T-shirts and second hand skate suitable ephemera is off the scale - forget the Rose Bowl, LA thrift stores are where it’s at, a downward tilt of the Ray-Bans to scope the competition is a noted move up and down the packed aisles and rails. Doing divine justice to this golden age of eye watering ‘radical dude’ one offs for $10 and under is a tall order, so rather than attempt the virtually impossible….

A New Brand aka A.N.B is a respectful homage, seeking to - minus the musty smell of rag tag band tees, patchouli oil and Bay Area homegrown w**d - infiltrate the senses with an amalgam of halcyonic memories and ‘the good old days’ mentality. Designed in London and produced in Portugal - whilst dreaming of the West Coast - all the jersey is pigment dyed and the positional prints baked before everything is stone washed as a nod to that unmistakable thrift store look. Bats**t design and the twisting of one’s proverbial melon is not only difficult to replicate, it’s damn near impossible, so instead American iconography has been twisted to see things from an altered perspective. ARMY becomes ARTY, COACH becomes COUCH, woodland and desert camos are constructed from fifties pin up silhouettes adding a psychedelic edge to the visionary sensory perception.

This isn’t just an homage it’s a love affair brought to life. The silhouettes are simple but come correct – you don’t need much else to construct using the de-constructed - drop shoulder, 100% cotton Tees, sweats and hoods, ripstop vacation shirts, gilets, combat jackets and bottoms… wardrobe complete.
