Sometimes clipping in on a slope can be tricky.
Here’s a simple tip to make it easier.

How to put your skis on when you’re on a fairly steep slope with soft to moderately firm snow:
Start by creating a small platform with your boots so you’re stable and comfortable.
Plant your poles firmly in the snow — it’s even better to plant them upside down.
Take a moment to look in the direction you want to ski, so you clip in facing the right way.
Always start with the downhill ski — the one lower on the slope.
You can plant the tail of your ski into the snow to prevent it from sliding away, then clip in.
Repeat the same process with the second ski.
Be careful not to plant the ski tail too high: you still want a bit of contact with the snow to make clipping in easier.
Another important point: before stepping in, always check that there’s no ice in the inserts, to avoid any binding engagement issues.
Carrying a small knife can be very useful to remove any ice if needed.

The snow is here — enjoy your turns and stay safe out there! ✨
