You DON’T want to recover…
Everyone talks about recovery.
But what if recovery is NOT actually what you’re looking for?
Recovery implies returning to who you WERE.
Returning to “normal.”
Returning to the life you had before food took over.
But tell me…
Do you actually want your old life back?
The life where you played small.
Stayed quiet.
Put everyone else first.
Ignored your dreams.
Settled for surviving.
I don’t.
Neither do the women I work with.
They’re not fighting to become the woman they were before binge eating.
They’re becoming the woman they were ALWAYS capable of being.
That’s why I don’t think the real work is recovery.
It’s RECALIBRATION.
Recalibration means adjusting to carry more.
More peace.
More responsibility.
More visibility.
More success.
More love.
More money.
More purpose.
Because the woman you’re becoming cannot think, respond, or live from the same operating system that created your old life.
Binge eating was never just about food.
It was a signal that something deeper had fallen out of alignment.
When you recalibrate, food naturally begins to lose its job.
Not because you forced yourself to change…
But because you’re no longer living from the version of you that needed it.
You’re not trying to go backwards.
You’re preparing for everything your future is asking you to hold.

HIDING in the kitchen.
Kids are playing in the next room.
Laughing. Arguing. Making up games only they understand.
You can hear them.
But you’re standing at the counter, eating as quietly as possible.
One bite.
Then another.
Then another.
Trying not to get caught.
Trying not to let them see.
Trying not to think about what you’re doing.
Then the guilt.
The shame.
The secrecy.
The betrayal to yourself again.
When did motherhood look like this? Your thoughts start drifting.
As though interrupting your thoughts,
you hear the kids laughing.
Completely absorbed in the moment.
Feeling everything.
Fighting one minute.
Playing the next.
No guilt.
No self-judgment.
No need to escape themselves.
And for a second, a question slips through.
Where is that girl?
The one who used to feel everything.
The one who could cry and then laugh five minutes later.
The one who wasn’t afraid of herself.
What happened to her?
What if she’s still there?
Who doesn’t spend all day negotiating with food.
Who doesn’t promise herself she’ll start again tomorrow.
Who doesn’t stand in front of the cupboard wondering why she’s doing it again.
You catch glimpses of her sometimes.
When you belly laugh unexpectedly.
When you’re fully present with your children.
When you catch yourself dreaming about the life you really want.
When you forget about food for even a moment.
But then the urge comes.
The binge comes.
The shame follows.
And suddenly she feels very far away.
So you tell yourself you need more discipline.
More willpower.
A better plan.
Another fresh start.
But what if that’s not what’s missing?
What if the reason you can’t find her…
is because she’s buried underneath everything you’ve learned to suppress?
Your truth.
Your anger.
Your desires.
Your voice.
Your hunger.
Not just your hunger for food.
Your hunger for LIFE.
