New dates! BP = Великдень & Paște*

After someone pointed out yesterday that Orthodox Easter Sunday falls on 2 May next year, I asked the hotel again if other days were available.

So, eventually, BP27 Translation Conference will take place a week earlier, in the last week of April.

(When I first asked a couple of weeks ago, these dates were tentatively booked by another event organizer, but luckily they withdrew.)

*'Easter' in Ukrainian and Romanian. ('B' is obviously 'v') (The word literally means 'big day'. Interestingly, the Czech word for Easter, 'velikonoce', literally means 'big night'. The Romanian word comes from Greek Πάσχα, which, in turn, stems from Hebrew פֶּסַח / Pesach**. The Bulgarian word for Easter is very similar to the Ukrainian one. Incidentally, the corresponding Serbian word is 'Васкрс', which also fits in the BP pun -- this word literally means 'resurrection'.)

(**The new dates do fall on Passover. I hope this will not prevent observant people from attending. Also, I'll check if the opening times of Jewish sites in Prague are affected.)
