Specially Processed American Me by Jaime Sunwoo is a surreal autobiographical performance using SPAM, the canned meat, as a portal into her Asian American upbringing and her family's experiences of the Korean War. It investigates SPAM's legacy in the military and its significance across the Asia-Pacific– Korea, the Philippines, Okinawa, Hawaii, and Guam. The film will be subtitled in Korean to make it accessible to Korean speaking audiences.

Annoucement from Jaime Sunwoo: "I contributed to 'The Kitchen Studio' published by Phaidon Press and found the book in France at La Collection Lambert en Avignon! The book is a collection of recipes and thoughts on food by artists, including folks I've admired for a while like Kehinde Wiley and Kiki Smith. I wrote about my play Specially Processed American Me, reflected on Spam, and shared a Spam fried rice family recipe. Lovely to know it's shared around the world! You can find it in your local bookstore. It just took me a while to announce it because I was consumed with working on my play when the book was released.
Shout out to Zach Bell for the scrumptious food photo."
