Providing meaningful services to the community is not a task that can be accomplished in isolation; it requires a united effort.

Global Compassion is grateful to collaborate with the Legal Aid Commission Fiji, the Fiji Council Of Social Services (FCOSS), and the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection - Fiji

Together, we offered invaluable opportunities to everyone who attended the Pastors Conference at Faith Harvest Church.

This collaborative initiative aimed to empower participants with essential resources and support, showcasing our commitment to promoting community well-being and resilience.

| World Autism Awareness Day is recognised internationally on April 2nd, urging United Nations member states to promote awareness about autistic individuals globally.

This year marks the 18th annual celebration!
Autism Awareness Month is dedicated to educating communities, sharing stories, and increasing support for individuals with autism.

The goal is to foster acceptance, promote inclusion, and create a more supportive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum and at the same time, to shine a light on the spectrum of experiences that make up the lives of people with autism.

Here in Fiji, weโ€™re known for our warm hearts and welcoming spirit, and that extends to embracing everyone, regardless of their differences.

It is a day designated by the United Nations to raise awareness about autism.

Autism is a unique way of being. Being autistic does not mean you have an illness or disease. It means your brain functions differently from that of other people. Itโ€™s a spectrum, meaning each individualโ€™s experience is different.

The day is dedicated to promoting acceptance and understanding of individuals on the autism spectrum. It emphasises that autism is not something to be cured or fixed, but rather something to be understood and embraced.

You may have encountered the phrase โ€œLight It Up Blueโ€ associated with World Autism Awareness Day.

Blue is the official color of the autism awareness movement. However, it's not just about wearing blue or seeing blue lights; it's about making a genuine difference in the lives of people with autism.

It's essential to create inclusive environments where everyone feels valued, heard, and respected for who they are.

One of the key messages of World Autism Awareness Day is the significance of early diagnosis and intervention.

By identifying autism at an early stage and providing the necessary support, we can help individuals reach their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.

We can educate ourselves and others about autism. By learning to recognise the signs of autism, we can support individuals on the spectrum in our communities.

Happy World Autism Awareness Day 2025!!
