Did you know that black women owned small businesses only receive 0.39% of citywide contracts!!🤯Today I attended a joint oversight hearing to hear ‘s bill Resolution 281, calling on the Mayor’s Office to identify and implement measures to reduce disparities faced by businesses owned by women of color in obtaining and fulfilling public contracts. As a state and city certified MWBE business owner, I am disappointed that I left the hearing with no clarification or information about the way forward!
