Empowering Girls, Protecting Futures
PHE-EC, in collaboration with Green Health Africa, successfully conducted a menstrual health awareness and sanitary pad donation program at a primary school in Dedo Woreda, Sito Kebele.
The initiative aimed to prevent school dropout among adolescent girls by addressing one of the most overlooked barriers—menstrual health management.
The session focused on empowering female students through comprehensive health education on the menstrual cycle, including practical guidance on the proper use of reusable sanitary pads and simple methods for tracking menstrual cycle using simple paper-based methods.
As part of the initiative, selected students received reusable sanitary pads, while additional disposable sanitary pads were donated to the school to ensure continued support.
This program is a step forward in preventing school dropout among girls by promoting dignity, confidence, and access to essential menstrual health resources.

🌍🌳 International Day of Forests, March 21, 2026 🌳🌍
Theme: Forests and Economies
Forests are more than the “lungs of the planet”—they are engines of sustainable prosperity. This year’s theme, Forests and Economies, reminds us that forests fuel livelihoods, strengthen agricultural productivity, and build climate resilience.
At PHE Ethiopian Consortium (PHE-EC), we celebrate this day by advancing our annual tree planting campaigns and promoting inclusive, community-driven conservation. Forests safeguard watersheds, sustain family farming, and provide nature-based solutions for a sustainable bioeconomy.
Healthy forests mean healthy economies—for today and for generations to come.
Join us as we plant hope, protect biodiversity, and invest in resilient livelihoods. Together, we can grow a greener, more prosperous future.
