Ethiopia 🇪🇹 Makes History!

Addis Ababa is set to host the World Internet Conference (WIC) this September, marking the first time the global tech summit will be held outside China.

With 200+ tech giants expected to attend — including Google and NVIDIA — this is a major milestone for Ethiopia’s growing digital economy and a big boost for tech tourism.

The event places Ethiopia firmly on the global tech map and highlights Africa’s rising influence in the digital future.

Ethiopian Airlines Group has confirmed purchase of nine Boeing 787-9 aircraft, with deliveries planned between 2031 and 2033. The addition of the aircraft aims at expanding the airline’s route network and enhance its international connectivity, providing more flexible flight options for passengers.

Ethiopia is constructing Africa's largest water park. The massive project is part of Addis Ababa’s wider urban transformation and tourism development drive, aimed at positioning the city as a leading leisure and entertainment hub in Africa. Once completed, the water park is expected to feature world-class water slides, wave pools, family and kids’ zones, landscaped relaxation areas, and supporting hospitality facilities, making it the largest of its kind on the continent.
