Dear Red Army:
This is your Chairman and Servant Deng Bol Aruai Bol. I want to remind you that the year 2021 is a special year for the Red Army, because it’s the year we must reflect, unite and organize for the common good of the Red Army and people of South Sudan.
The Red Army shoulders a huge burden and the responsibility of safeguarding the vision of the SPLM/A. Just like we helped in the liberation of South Sudan, we must take the lead in delivering the promise of freedom and prosperity to our people.
It’s our mandate to implement the vision of the SPLM of taking towns to the people by initiating and implementing Legacy Preservation, Developmental and Humanitarian programs at the grassroots levels in all States and Administrative Areas.
I have authorized and instructed Red Army in South Sudan and Diaspora to secure land, fundraise and build Red Army Foundation regional and state offices. The success of these project will largely depend on the dedication of individual members and communities to initiate and execute programs to benefit them while preserving and carrying forward the patriotic legacy of the SPLM/A.
To effectively manage this effort in partnership with government agencies, communities, willing NGOs and development partners, the Red Army Foundation has appointed three (3) regional Deputy Chairmen representing Equatoria, Bahr El Ghazal and Upper Nile.
The First Deputy Chairman and I will provide oversight to all projects of the Red Army Foundation and will not be involved in any financial matters.
Stay tuned and safe!
Deng Bol Aruai Bol
Chairman,
Red Army Foundation
Juba, South Sudan
Dear Compatriots:
This is to inform you that I have decided to go to South Sudan tomorrow Tuesday 2nd March, 2021. As you may recall, I had to postpone my return because of the ongoing surge of Coronavirus cases and subsequent restrictions in Juba, South Sudan. Although I am fully aware and weary of the risks involved, I came to the decision that I must go to Juba for the sake of the SPLM/A Red Army Legacy Preservation Project. It’s almost 38 years since the liberation started and also almost 16 years since we achieved self rule. History is told, reacted, written and recorded by the living.
The saddest thing however, is that our leaders, especially those connected to our history and us, the Red Army are dying in record numbers. History is dying with us and it’s our sole responsibility for us to speed up the process and preserve our history. While in Juba, I must secure the land on which we can construct the Red Army Memorial Facilities and assemble a committee to mobilize resources and oversee the implementation of the project in conjunction with our offices in Diaspora.
Before we could officially launch our fundraising campaigns all over the world, we should have cleared part of the land, erect a Foundation Stone and establish a production camp for bricks and blocks production. I must also inform all my colleagues in the Red Army, Relatives and Friends that COVID-19 restrictions are still in effect and therefore will not be able to have gatherings and or regular meetings as I have always done.
As of now, my main task and focus will be to get this project started, therefore, I shall delegate other responsibilities to my Deputies. I remain humbled and encouraged by the level of interest and support this project has generated and that is why it’s worth risking everything for. It will be the hallmark and signature project of the Red Army that will carry the sacrifices, might and resilience of the Red Army to future generations.
Stay safe!
