Embracing Imperfection 🎨✍🏽🎶
In a world that constantly asks us to be flawless, we chose to be real.
Through reflective painting and honest writing, we gave ourselves permission to show up unfinished, unfiltered, and fully human. Every brushstroke carried a story. Every word held a truth we often hide.
As gentle acoustic sounds filled the space, something softened within us. The music didn’t demand perfection—it simply accompanied our process. In that shared rhythm of color, words, and sound, we remembered that healing doesn’t require mastery, only presence.
Imperfection is not a weakness; it is where authenticity lives.
And in embracing it together, we created a space of safety, creativity, and quiet courage.
✨ Here’s to art as therapy, music as a companion, and imperfection as home.
Heartfelt appreciation goes to Modern Art Museum: Gebrekerestos Desta Center and Charis EthioSound.
Healing isn’t a fancy thing that happens far away.
It’s here…in our everyday struggles, in conversations we’re scared to have and in the colors we choose when words feel too heavy.
For 24 days, Mental Health Addis opened a brave space; an exhibition reminding people that mental health isn’t a side story. It’s life.
It’s joy, pain, growth, setbacks, healing… all of it.
120+ people showed up for the closing event.
Not because they were artists.
Not because they needed a perfect piece to hang.
But because they needed a moment.
A breath.
A way to express what’s been sitting quietly inside.
At the event there was laughter.
People painted things that surprised us.
People shared stories…some soft, some brave.
We were reminded that art isn’t a luxury reserved for museums.
Art is how we heal.
Art is how we connect.
Art is how we keep going.
Thank you to every single soul who picked up a brush and chose courage over silence. 👏👏👏
This collaboration will always hold a special place in our journey. And we can’t wait to create more spaces where healing feels like community and community feels like home.
Thanks a million, Modern Art Museum: Gebrekiristos Desta Center, and band.🙏🙏🙏
