The Shanghairen

La ultima vez os he presentado "The Tokyoiter", yo como una shanghainesa que vive en Valencia casi 5 años y estoy muy orgullosa de presentaros este proyecto "The Shganghairen".

Muchos de vosotros sabéis que Shanghai está sufriendo por el lockdown, un tiempo súper duro y desesperado para todo el mundo. Nos preocupamos por nuestras familias y amigos que están allí. Echamos mucho de menos de como era antes Shanghai, la ciudad más brillante, potente y cosmopolita. Somos Shanghainese y somos fuertes, nos reunimos y queremos la verdad. Pase lo que pase, confío en Ella, confío en mi ciudad. Estoy con ella y estoy muy segura de que se curará y volverá con sus auténticas bellezas!!

El Shanghairen es un proyecto creativo creado por un centenar de artistas de la ilustración de Shanghái y de todo el mundo. Se trata de un homenaje a la icónica portada ilustrada de la revista 'The New Yorker', y una continuación de la inspiración de 'Parisianer' y 'Tokyoiter'. "El enfoque personal y estilístico del ilustrador es una continuación de la inspiración de El ilustrador tiene total libertad para crear su propia visión de Shanghai con su perspectiva y estilo personales.

Por cierto, en tu ciudad también hay un proyecto así, o sino te gustaría crearlo? Sería super guay, uno en mi segunda ciudad aquí, un proyecto como "the Valenciano". Déjame tu opines!!🤔

The Shanghairen

Last time I have introduced you "The Tokyoiter", I as a Shanghainese living in Valencia almost 5 years and I am very proud to introduce you this project "The Shanghairen".

Many of you know that Shanghai is suffering from the lockdown, a super tough and desperate time for everyone. We worry about our families and friends who are there. We miss so much of how Shanghai used to be, the brightest, most powerful and cosmopolitan city. We are Shanghainese and we are strong, we come together and we want to tell the truth. Whatever happens, I trust her, I trust my city. I am always with her and I am very confident that she will be healed and come back with her authentic power and beauties!!!

The Shanghairen is a collaborative project gathering dozens of emerging and confirmed talents from Shanghai and the rest of the World. It's a tribute to the famous covers of "The New Yorker", "The Parisianer", "The Tokyoiter" and "Le Montrealer". All artists were given full freedom of style and topics to express their vision of the city.

By the way, in your city there is also such a project, or else you would like to create one? It would be super cool, one in my second city here, a project like "the Valenciano". Let me know what you think!🤔

The Tokyoiter

Conoces The New Yoker, has escuchado The Parisianer, hoy os presento The Tokyoiter. The Tokyoiter es el nombre de esta revista conceptual, un proyecto de revista virtual online lanzado en 2016 por el diseñador francés David Robert y el ilustrador británico Andrew Joyce. Una buena revista puede mejorar tu vida y ampliar tus horizontes. Pero, ¿qué adivinas cuando un día ves una revista muy bien diseñada, sólo para descubrir que su único contenido es la portada?

El Tokyoiter tiene un concepto de diseño muy claro, con un precio de 500 yenes por ejemplar y solo un diseño de portada. Por supuesto, en la tipografía y el diseño de la revista, podemos ver un homenaje a las conocidas revistas The New Yorker y The Parisianer. Invitan a diferentes diseñadores e ilustradores de todo el mundo, y el único tema es presentar un Tokio diferente a través de sus ojos y pinceles, ya sea desde la arquitectura, la comida, la gente, la historia y todo lo demás.

You know The New Yoker, you've heard The Parisianer, today I present to you The Tokyoiter. The Tokyoiter is the name of this concept magazine, an online virtual magazine project launched in 2016 by French designer David Robert and British illustrator Andrew Joyce. A good magazine can improve your life and broaden your horizons. But what do you guess when one day you see a beautifully designed magazine, only to discover that its only content is the cover?

The Tokyoiter has a very clear design concept, with a price of 500 yen of each and only one- cover-design magazine. Of course, in the typography and design of the magazine, with this tribute to The New Yorker traditional cover art and The Parisianer, we can both celebrate illustration, cartooning, drawing, design, creativity… and Tokyo.
