three days of unprovoked ‘love that’ — they patented it for a reason 😈
🤎 a thought…
Is there a world where I shop at the same store as my Grandma?
Grandma is a Yorkshire Queen who moved to the Caribbean at 23. Whenever she’d visit us, without fail, she would take us to her heaven - Marks and Spencer, to do a sweep for her and Grandad’s adventures.
Cue becoming a teenager, stood nervously in the changing rooms waiting for my first bra fitting and in walk two rosey women. That day they taught me a lesson that stayed with me for life — the everyday and unseen, builds confidence, so let it be beautiful, let it be powerful and let it be romantic, because you deserve that confidence just for you.
Womanhood brought a love for art and then - ‘style’. The more I evolved, the more I wanted to explore the chic and eccentric style I’d seen in the people who made me and I found myself in the same aisles Grandma had once taken me to… but this time they were for me.
Timeless. There for all my eras. Slay.
Love that.
‘January’s Beautiful Ease’ written by me for
Sometimes it feels like that,
like perhaps, this will be the year, the leaves don’t come back
ahhh and then you feel her giggle,
through the pink of a sky you forgot could sizzle
Soft slow mornings,
pitter patter of grey mist,
cheeks made pink from her outdoor kiss
Aliveness - cashmere, against cold skin,
candle light that opens up the heart again
And as if by magic, home becomes a safer place,
the flurried rush back in the dark gets a sweeter taste
because the ritual of hibernation,
of low light,
of rest,
introduces us to an inner voice that says ‘let’s connect’
So you suit up,
zip the boot up,
whisper love to your fears,
in January’s Beautiful Ease
You can button down,
put the hurry down,
speak a love to your fears,
in January’s beautiful ease
