The Emotion Sensation Feeling Wheel 😊😄☹️😱😢😡
It’s an adaptation of the “feelings wheel” that many therapists and coaches using to help people study to better understand and name their emotions.
The two inner rings of this wheel are emotions, the outside ring contains descriptions of the actual physical sensations that may accompany that emotion, described in concrete sensory language.
When an individual has not practiced recognizing and labeling their emotions, asking them to recognize complex emotions comes to be an intellectual exercise.
This chart is not planned to function as an assessment tool or scientific measure.
Human experience is different.
All responses generate opportunities for making connections, help integrate mind and body, and quick helpful discussions that can help people cultivate the understanding of how their body sensations and emotions are related.
