Everett Stack authoritatively took a much-awaited first win of the season today in Race 1 at the Hungaroring. The American driver of Motopark had a very clean race, taking the lead at the start and cruising up to the flag. He was clearly happy on the podium and strengthens his second position in the standings: “At last! After winning a few races last year, I had a complicated start of the season, but today, everything went well. I took the lead at the start and after that, I saw nobody around me.”

Championship leader Rui-heng Yeh finished second ahead of an emotional Alessandro Famularo, third in the first-classified car of BVM Racing. The Venezuelan driver has been logically very touched by the terrible earthquake that has stricken his homeland. Earlier in the day he led the minute of silence held at the Hungaroring in solidarity with the Venezuelan people.

Poleman Javier Herrera (BVM) finished only fourth after dropping two positions because of a 5 –second penalty for an incident with Yeh.
