Our project “Fields of Memory” is awarded at the National Architecture Awards of Turkish Chamber of Architects in the Ideas Representation Category! 🥳 The project is selected for the restricted Commemoration of Epidemics and Health Workers Design Competition!
The biodiversity in and around Taksim, the birds, animals and plants native to Istanbul become parts of the new micro-habitat in the area. The natural vegetative texture was preserved and its continuity was supported by the proposed multi-layered landscape setup.
Aiming to keep the urban memory of the epidemic alive, the project creates a landscape of collective and performative memory where idea and knowledge couple. These memories of the pandemic are planted in the ground and raised for the future of the whole society. While this unique place of memory and commemoration in the heart of the city tells the bitter stories of the epidemics to the citizens; life and death, past and future are hidden within the fields of memories.

We are glad to be part of the family, many thanks to and for their organization and efforts!
Caminos de Sedó aims to prompt a design mechanism that evokes a multitude of networks activating and reinvigorating Sedó. The project re-interprets and builds on the sparks of the existing thematical routes.
