This is our food forest in achego central primary school in katito, its just a month old , the fruit trees and other agroecological trees are still young covered inside the abundant Leafly vegetables. Achego is always flooded during rainy season, this part of our farm sustain the heavy rain ..its absorbed thousand of liter's of water through our tree biomass...what is the benefit ? Food forests support forest ecosystems and connect communities with nature. Today Achego community are able to harvest unlimited vegetables. We trust Trees of different sizes to produce nuts and fruit in future, while their shade can support a variety of fresh, flavorful mushrooms will be intergraded, herbs, and berries. Trees also improve air quality and retain water.
