It has been a while since my last post and that’s mainly because I’ve decided some time ago to let go of everything and only do what felt right for me.

Writing on social media wasn’t amongst these things.

I noticed that being on social media was a strain on my life. It felt like an obligation, a stress factor which I didn’t want.

Looking back at 2023 and evaluating, it has been a year of letting go.

Letting go of control, embracing uncertainty and letting flow appear.

Not influencing by being on top of things but just letting things happen.

How difficult is that for an ex-control freak/perfectionist?  😉 

I must say it has been quite a journey, which I started already without realizing it the year before, in 2022.

The big letting go however was this summer.

Pulling out the plug of everything that didn’t work, that wasn’t fun anymore, that gave me an unsatisfying feeling.

A lot of inner work had to be done and I’m still in the process.

Inner work & personal development is a work in progress anyway, always.

But that’s the fun part of it as well. Although it doesn’t always feel like that.

When you let go of control and let go of being on top of things that you don’t like, it opens space for new things to enter.

A project I’ve been working on for a couple of months has been a shared project with two beautiful ladies who have become my best friends and extended family, Aída and Gabriela.

With whom I share my most intimate feelings and bot give me the space to vent whatever I struggle with, but also share my wins and happy things 💃 

They support me, they stand by my side and they catch me when I fall, or fail.

I’m happy to announce that as of the 11th of January you can get a glimpse of what we share between the three of us, in our podcast “Tu Paleta de Placer”

Different topics all related to pleasure, sometimes in a serious tone, but most of the time in our unique, funny and multicultural expression.

All brought to you in Spanish.

Coming back to my pleasures and only doing the things I love to do, the podcast is one of the things that will be high on my list for this year.

I want to draw more gratitude into my life and one of the things I’ve decided to do is to capture one special moment every day.

Yesterday I captured this moment. I was cleaning my window, sitting on the dirty floor, while the sun was caressing my face and the bamboo was swaying in the wind . Such a beautiful moment ❤️

More gratitude leads to more happiness.
But you need consciousness to capture moments.

Therefore, consciousness leads to special moments, special moments lead to gratitude, and gratitude leads to happiness.

And that ultimately leads to longevity.

A definite win-win-win situation I would say, and it makes you feel soooo good!

This is one of the small things I do in a day to keep myself aware of how lucky I am.

Not because I have a lot of money.
Not because I have a big house and a big car.
Not because I have status or because I’m famous.

Just being aware during the day how lucky one is with the little things that happen, is amazing.

And if you really connect to this feeling it will connect brain and heart.

And this connection is powerful! 💫

Some say the heart is the first brain.
I know that for a lot that’s difficult to grasp.

But did you know that the energy emitted from the heart is much bigger than from the brain?

Something to keep in mind 😉 

I will keep cleaning and painting my new house and being grateful for this big opportunity that I have been given.

Have you been in a toxic relationship and completely put yourself aside?

Knowing that it wasn’t healthy for you.
Knowing that you deserved so much better.

But still  hanging on because you thought that without that person you would be nothing?

I’ve been there.

I’ve been in a toxic relationship and I lost myself.

It took me years to recover and finally appreciate and love myself as I deserved.

I set clear boundaries to not let it happen again.

Do you set your boundaries?

Or do you live your life according to other people’s boundaries?

If so, it’s time to change!

To take action because you know deep down inside this is not how you want to live.

Do you listen to your body?

Or are you going on and on and never stop?

I used to be like that and even sometimes I fall back into that mode because it has been ingrained in my being for so long. 

Being conscious about what you are doing helps.
And sometimes a workout AND a reiki session will do the trick as well 😉

That's what I did this week and my body just felt exhausted.
A lot of energy was moved around and boy did I notice!

So I came home, went straight to bed to give my (energy)body rest.

The next morning the alarm rang at 6 but I just couldn't get up.
So I stayed in bed for another hour or so.

I gave my body the rest it needed.

I didn't beat myself up.
I didn't think I was weak.
I just nurtured and took care of my body as I was supposed to do.
I gave it time to recover. 

This is an act of Self Love.

I take care of my body because it takes care of me ❤️

Maybe this is a different way of thinking about the body.

I am not my body.

My body is the vessel in which I reside.
