Don’t expect to look like the instagram posts 🤸‍♀️!!! Comparison is the thief of joy 😮‍💨

I keep having to tell myself as a student of yoga and a yoga teacher that it’s ‘Yoga Practice’ not ‘Yoga Perfect’ We most definitely bring our own practice to the mat however that looks for us. The postures ‘asanas’ are one tiny piece of the Yoga puzzle and they are all beautiful.

Just get on the mat, how you look there doesn’t matter a jot! 😊

What is AHIMSA?

One of the eight limbs of Yoga is the Yama - these are ethical codes to live by and one of them speaks loudly to me….. Ahimsa.

This is all about Non-Violence, which is directed to ourselves, our fellow human, all living beings and the planet in general.

I’m a vegetarian and try my best to practice Ahimsa always. All living things deserve the same respect and love 🙏❤️

First Class done ✔️ The room was tiny and it was a tight squeeze but 7 brand new yogis came to practice with me. As it was a beautiful sunny day we took our practice outside ☀️ 🌳 🌸 🐦 We came into our bodies with breathwork and some gentle flows and finished with a sunny Savasana where I took them through a guided meditation.

So blessed to have the opportunity to share my passion with others. I only hope that they found some benefit and peace 🙏❤️
