LAST MINUTE!!! Prime Minister anounces that Spanish border to reopen on June 21 together with end of the alarm state in Spain. The only exception is with Portugal and will remain closed until the end of the month.

Spain will reopen borders to EU states on June 21, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez tells regional chiefs Travelers from non-EU countries will be permitted to enter from July 1, providing there is a reciprocal agreement on travel and taking into account the epidemiological situation in the country of origin.

⚠️⚠️ Alicante Airport to reopen ⚠️⚠️

In a complete U-Turn by the Spanish Government it has just been announced by the Minister of Transport that Alicante Airport will be reopening. Alicante Elche Airport will be one of 5 airports in Spain that will be receiving incoming and outgoing International flights.

At the moment this does NOT mean that anyone can fly but anyone who has a residencia or permit to enter Spain can do so via Alicante instead of Barcelona or Madrid. British citizens who hold a British passport can also now return to the UK from Alicante Airport. Anyone traveling either way MUST undertake a 14 day quarantine period.
