One day you'll realise the sunsets mattered more than the approval 🌅

We recently visited the Harry Potter Studio Tour in Watford, and it was one of those attractions that completely exceeded expectations.

What really struck me was seeing just how much work, creativity, and attention to detail went into bringing the films to life. From the iconic sets and costumes to the intricate props that only appear on screen for a few seconds, every corner of the tour showcases the incredible craftsmanship behind the Harry Potter films.

The experience does a fantastic job of immersing you in the wizarding world. Walking through the Great Hall, Diagon Alley, and other famous locations genuinely feels like stepping into the films themselves. One of the highlights was getting to pull up a screaming Mandrake from its pot.. a small detail, but one that instantly transports you into the magical world of Hogwarts.

The studio tour has a way of bringing the films back to life, and there were several moments where it actually felt like you were part of the story. Whether you're a lifelong Potterhead who knows every spell by heart or, like me, someone who's simply watched and enjoyed all the films, there's something here to captivate you from start to finish.

Fascinating, immersive, and brilliantly put together, it's an attraction that's well worth experiencing if you ever get the chance.

We've just returned from what was my second visit to Liverpool, and I can firmly say it's my favourite city in the UK.

There's something about Liverpool that just feels different. Everywhere you look there's character, history and life. It's a city that's proud of where it's come from, and you can feel that. From the waterfront to the back streets, there are reminders of the city's past woven into everyday life, bringing that unique Scouse charm to life around every corner.

What really stands out though is the people. Friendly, welcoming and always up for a chat. Whether it's a quick conversation in a café, a joke with a shopkeeper or someone simply saying hello as you walk past, people actually look you in the eye and engage with you. It's something that feels increasingly rare these days. There's a real sense of community and openness that's hard to find in bigger cities. It's certainly not something I've experienced much in London, or even Birmingham.

Liverpool has soul, and after two visits, I know we'll be back.

One of those evenings where time seemed to slow down the sky in shades of gold and pink, and nothing on the agenda except enjoying the moment.
Looking back, it's the simple sunsets and peaceful views that stay with us the longest. Grateful for the memories and hoping to return someday.
