Tomatoes 🍅
Fascinated by this edible berry of the plant Solanum lycopersicum, commonly known as the tomato plant. Such a versatile little (or big) fruit.
As you know by now, they can be consumed in diverse ways: raw or cooked, and in many dishes, sauces, salads, and drinks.
As I first learned in Atlanta, GA (US) unripe green tomatoes can also be breaded and fried, used to make salsa, or pickled.
Tomato juice is also sold as a drink, and who has not had few cocktails known as the Bloody Mary🙂 Tomatoes are extensively used in Mediterranean cuisine as a key ingredient in pizza and many pasta sauces. Last but not least, amazing tomatoes are regularly used in Spanish and Catalan dishes, such as gazpacho and „pa amb tomàquet”.

It is certain that we shall be joined by many of its close friends such as olive oil, salt, garlic and jamon iberico de bellota.
