+ a young pioneer! Where is my red star emoji?! Honestly, one of the best contemporary artists of USSR ---> Russia I know. 's works are full of humour and metaphorical meanings which make you think before you react: would you laugh or cry? I will soon post more pictures from the exhibition but who really needs to see it are those who are mistaken by "better days" nostalgia. The "freedom of art" would sound like a joke back then and all who wanted to create anything but the official styled artworks - - were not only banned... they could go to prison. The greatest talents died poor, starving. Is it the paradise you recall? If you have something different to tell the world, that place isn't for you.

Okay, I promise next post is gonna be a painting! But for now...
One thing that really gets on my nerves is not even negative response of general audience to modern and contemporary art but all the jokes and neglection it gets. "I could do that!" seems to be the most popular reaction one have when looking at works of , constructions and compositions, as well as other weird-looking art objects. The problem is, when people don't understand the meaning behind the work (or just don't have a sense of humour), they tend to ignore it and critisize. I admit I myself was pretty confused at what I saw at some museums ( TATE Modern, what a fool I've been!). However, there is nothing deserving to be called a masterpiece without a reason and my curiosity (and a good cover) led me to buying one of my all-time favourite books: "Why Your Five Year Old Could Not Have Done That: Modern Art Explaine" by 💟 I can't say I could agree on everything I read ,but, a lot, I mean, A LOT of artists I used to dislike turned out to be highly deep and spiritual, especially when it came to depicting emotions and inner-demons. Of course, artists are more skilled and aesthetic. But why not to like different eras? In the end, were claimed to have ugly and offensive works to some before; everything new and untraditional seems frightning in the beginning, let's prove it wrong✨
