October construction works update: Kunstsilo Art Museum in Kristiansand, Norway.

Thanks to the Finland 2022 architecture prize for selecting us as a finalist with our Sauna project in Mänttä-Vilppula. Congratulations to the winners!!

The recipient of the Finlandia Prize for Architecture is chosen by a public figure who was recognised expert in an area other than architecture (this year was Klaus Härö, one of the most awarded Finnish filmmakers of all time).The winner is selected from a shortlist of projects chosen by the Pre-Selection Jury.

It was a bold move on part of the Serlachius Museum to commission the 2011 Gösta Museum competition-winning Mexican and Slovenian architects to design a Finnish sauna for this lakefront setting. But Héctor Mendoza, Mara Partida and Boris Bezan have shown themselves equal to the challenge. Along with their Finnish colleagues Pekka Pakkanen and Anna Kontuniemi, they have delivered a building that is truly astonishing in the scale of its ambition. The spatial richness and unstinting attention to detail will leave you dumbstruck with wonder.
