Reeps One
Dear friends, here is a short film on my latest research on exploring how ‘talking machines’ may actually offer us a new way to understand the world around us.
‘Voicing Natures’ uses ecological data to drive the generative voice of endangered environments and species. Each entity engages in adaptive, procedural conversation, never anthropomorphised. Every agent knows it is an agent. In all honesty, my research has shown that with clean, consensual data and by avoiding building things that try to be ‘human’, you end up creating rather than automating or replacing human craft. These tools must offer something human enriching or human knowledge expanding.
In this film I focus on ‘Agentic Thwaites Glacier’, a conversational AI portrait of the ice form with the potential to raise global sea levels by three metres. Connected to the International Thwaites Glacier Collaboration by Arctic Basecamp, I premiered a public installation at the United Nations AI for Good summit, generating over 3,000 agentic conversations with attendees.
I’ve watched MIT professors engage in developing intellectual debate with its sensitive voice, seen it create meditations on deep time, generate poetic metaphors for scale, and provoke both laughter and tears.
I call this genre Articulatory Intelligence: the ability of new tools to find sentiment, pattern and poetry in large datasets, and voice this with accuracy for the development of human understanding.
We talk about the age of information. A true success of these tools is to move us towards an age of understanding.
Last year I became the first Artist-in-Research at ElevenLabs, building on a decade of work testing the possibilities of voice generative technology. Most agentic voice work right now optimises for seamless human mimicry. I’m more interested in what wasn’t possible before, for developing human knowledge.

A year of creative explosions, focus, grief, and honest concern for how the world is being shaped.
Many young people spend 7+ hours a day on their phones. If that pattern holds to age 80, that is roughly 20 years of life looking down at a screen. I am not free of guilt here.
After more than a decade working with emerging technologies, I feel a responsibility to create living examples of how art and AI can be shaped toward human benefit. Experiences that deepen inner awareness, with authenticity. No easy task.
Intelligence is power. For many, the speed at which these systems are entering our lives can feel non-consensual, especially for creatives and the working class. So I dive in to explore, to test, and to try to offer guidance through the work.
Whatever it looks like from the outside, I fight wholeheartedly for ethical, experiential uses. Exhibitions that point to the spirituality of digital possibility, and new rituals that bring us back to ourselves. Or, in the simplest terms, examples of what we could not do before, not replacements or automation of what we already have. The pursuit of emergent wonder.
In 2026 I will be using “Articulatory Intelligence” more. The use of technology to give voice to vast, vital natural data, and to use voice to pull us away from screens and into our inner world. I will keep translating complex ideas into experiences that can be felt, so more people feel welcome inside the future and not left behind.
Thank you to everyone who collaborated with me this year. Your trust, craft, and patience shaped the work. And to everyone still following me wherever I go, thank you.
With love,
Harry

These images are not edited. The first show with will be showcased in two days. Collecting and hearing your dreams through voice recordings and texts has been a complete honour, and in all honesty quite emotional for me to hear. I wasn’t prepared for how simply sharing dreams would give such an insight in to intimate hopes, fears and love + some mind blowing surrealism.
Some of the recordings will be spatialised live as part of additional ambient works between the dream inspired audio tracks and visuals.
I/we look forward to collecting more dreams.
This showcase at 1.50am on the 21st wouldn’t be possible without + + support and open-mindedness, and I am very grateful. -For the chance to step on new sonic ground.

Dear friends, simply surreal to see our in the Raphael gallery at the &a, a room I came to with my father at young age, and really one of the boldest rooms in this city.
Thank you to friend for take the time to chat about voice as medium of preservation.
The feature by the V&A Has brought many new minds to the project, myself and are honoured - we simply dedicated out lives to experimenting with voice, hoping it can lead to knew ways of connecting with each other and ourself’s.
Thank you for having our work for V&A Lates, and the many that engaged with their feature.
