Sometimes, we deceive ourselves. We simply don’t want to see the truth. Be it because the truth is too painful because it will bring too much uncertainty, or maybe because we simply just can’t bother.

Yet, the truth is our future, and the future depends on how well we preserve our commitment to the truth.
What is the need we feel when we deceive ourselves or others?
I mean, what is the gain?
There is always a gain we get when we choose to hide from the truth.
Is this gain worth it?
Will this gain lead us to where we want to be?
What’s the benefit of covering it all up with a whole bunch of lies?
