L’ampliació del palau de Hoquei d’Olot va ser realitzada simultàniament a la construcció d’esports d’Olot. Inevitablement els dos edificis es van contraposar. L’un havia de ser el contrari de l’altre. Si el pavelló era transparent i levitava sobre el terreny , la pista de hoquei havia de ser opaca i descansava sobre el terra; si el pavelló era un edifici aïllat, la nova pista naixeria adossada al volum de hoquei preexistent. Si les façanes del pavelló dialogaven amb l’entorn i eren captadores energètiques, la pista es mostrava reservada, grisa i absent.
L’interior mostrava el joc de la ambigüitat, un mateix espai amb dues cares. Dr. Jekyll i Mr. Hyde.

The expansion of the Olot Hockey Palace was carried out simultaneously with the construction of the Olot sports complex. Inevitably the two buildings opposed each other. One had to be the opposite of the other. If the pavilion was transparent and levitated on the ground, the hockey rink had to be opaque and rested on the ground; if the pavilion was an isolated building, the new rink would be built adjacent to the pre-existing hockey volume. If the facades of the pavilion dialogued with the surroundings and were energy collectors, the track was reserved, grey, and absent.
The interior showed a game of ambiguity, the same space with two faces. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
