A story with a lesson:
One day, the philosopher Socrates came across an acquaintance who ran to him and said to him eagerly:
Socrates, do you know what I heard about one of your students?
Socrates replied: Wait a minute before you tell me, I would like you to pass a little test called the Triple Filter Exam.
He said to him: The triple filter?
Socrates continued: That's right, before you tell me about my student, let's take a moment to filter what you're going to say.
The first filter is honesty. Are you sure what you're going to tell me is true?
The man replied: No, actually I heard the news.
Socrates said: Well then you are not sure that what you are going to tell me is true or false.
Let's try the second filter, the filter of kindness. Is what you're going to tell me about my student something good?
No, on the contrary.
Socrates continued: Well then you're going to tell me something bad about my student even though you're not sure it's true?
the man started feeling embarrassed .
Continue Socrates: You can still pass the exam, there is a third filter, the filter of usefulness, will what you tell me about my student help me?
actually no.
Socrates continued: If you are going to tell me something that is neither true nor good nor of any use or value, why do you tell me it at all?
So the man was silent and felt defeated and humiliated.
For this reason, Socrates was a philosopher that people valued and held in high esteem.
Remember this wisdom and tell it to everyone who brings you news.
