Starting from scratch poses a real challenge, especially when you have young mouths to feed. Ayman had to leave Syria when the war broke out, but he was determined to find his way in Egypt. When he came across an intensive welding training, he dove in head first.
 
The training, funded by UNHCR and implemented through Don Bosco Technical Institute, was intense, with a steep learning curve, but Ayman faced it with tenacity.

Upon completing rigorous exams, he was selected as one of only two candidates to travel to Italy for a welding position through

A pathway enabling refugees and members of the host community to access employment opportunities abroad.

In an introductory meeting focused on advancing refugee inclusion, Dr. Hanan Hamdan, Representative of UNHCR to Egypt and the League of Arab States, met with Dr. Bothayna Mostafa, Vice Chairwoman of حياة كريمة.

The discussion explored potential areas of cooperation to better include refugees in economic empowerment initiatives and other programmes, supporting more inclusive and sustainable opportunities for all.

وتناول اللقاء بحث مجالات التعاون الممكنة لتعزيز إدماج اللاجئين في مبادرات التمكين الاقتصادي وغيرها من البرامج، بما يدعم إتاحة فرص أكثر شمولاً واستدامة للجميع.
