This past year was more than training sessions and tournaments — it was about resilience, dignity, sisterhood, and belief. From boxing rings and football pitches to classrooms and community spaces, our girls proved that sport is not just a game — it is a language of hope, leadership, and change.

In the year ahead, we recommit to our mission:

🌿 Play it Brave – Fayoum Camp 🇪🇬✨
Powered and made possible by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI)

Impact Academy brought together over 30 girls — including Egyptian girls from Cairo and Fayoum, as well as Sudanese participants — for a transformative 3-day empowerment camp in the heart of Fayoum. This inclusive space was designed for bravery, healing, and purposeful play, ensuring every girl feels seen, supported, and safe.

Throughout the camp, the girls took part in:
🔥 Morning movement & training sessions led by our Purposeful Play coaches
🥊 Boxing sessions that strengthened confidence, courage, and discipline
🧠 A mental health workshop by psychologist focusing on emotional resilience, boundaries, and self-expression
⚕️ A doctor-led session on period health, hygiene, and body confidence, helping girls understand and embrace their bodies with dignity
🌅 Bonfire meditation and intention setting, cultivating calm, reflection, and inner strength
🎨 Henna, football, games, and team-building activities, fostering joy, connection, and community
🧡 A powerful 16 Days of Activism “UNBREAKABLE” session, reminding every girl of her rights, agency, and voice.

The entire experience was made possible by an exceptional team of project facilitators, coaches, mentors, and wellbeing specialists, each contributing to a safe, inclusive, and transformative environment.

Play it Brave is a gender-transformative initiative, and we are deeply grateful to CFLI for enabling us to reach girls from diverse communities — including refugees and rural communities — through sports, mental health support, period education, and leadership development.

Thank you to our facilitators, Purposeful Play coaches, psychologist, the medical team, .ecolodge that were great hosts and of course the incredible girls whose bravery inspires our mission every day.

Together, we are building safer, stronger, and braver futures. 💛

We are incredibly proud to announce the Official Launch of the “Play it Brave!” project!
This initiative is more than a project—it’s a comprehensive empowerment journey for 200 marginalized girls (ages 13-18), including refugees, across Cairo, Ras El Bar, Fayoum, and Tanta.
Why “Play it Brave!” Matters
Our program is a therapeutic and social intervention designed to tackle tough challenges:
* Tools: We use Trauma-informed Sports (Football and Boxing) to build confidence and resilience.
* Mission: We actively address Gender-Based Violence (GBV), mental health & Period stigma, and provide essential support for Period Poverty.
Our ultimate goal is to empower these girls to demonstrate higher self-confidence, know their rights, and establish strong, supportive peer networks.
Team Kick-Off and Next Steps:
The project implementers held their crucial first meeting at Impact Academy Cairo on October 31st. The session was key for a comprehensive team orientation and focused on finalizing the project timeline, planning the specialized coaching training for mental health, and strategizing the launch of the WhatsApp support circles!

🌍🎉 Today is the International Day of Play — a global reminder that play is not a luxury, it’s a right.

At Impact Academy, we believe play is power — especially for girls and young women who are often told their bodies don’t belong in public spaces, let alone sports arenas.

Through boxing gloves and football boots, laughter-filled warmups and fearless footwork, we use play to challenge gender norms, build resilience, and create safe spaces for healing and growth.

On this day, we call for inclusive, safe, and meaningful play for every child — no matter their gender, background, or postcode.

‎اليوم هو اليوم الدولي للّعب — تذكير عالمي بأن اللعب ليس رفاهية، بل هو حق.

‎في Impact Academy، نؤمن بأن اللعب هو قوة — خاصةً للفتيات والشابات اللواتي يُقال لهن غالبًا إن أجسادهن لا تنتمي إلى الأماكن العامة، ناهيك عن ساحات الرياضة.

‎من خلال قفازات الملاكمة وأحذية كرة القدم، والإحماءات المليئة بالضحك والخطوات الجريئة، نستخدم اللعب لتحدي القوالب النمطية،
وبناء الصلابة النفسية، وخلق مساحات آمنة للشفاء والنمو.

في هذا اليوم، ندعو إلى اللعب الشامل والآمن والهادف لكل طفل — بغض النظر عن جنسه أو خلفيته أو مكان سكنه.
