I had the pleasure of meeting Badr two decades ago, and right from the start, a deep friendship and understanding blossomed between us. Badr was renowned as the most celebrated artist in the oases, with a unique talent for creating captivating sand drawings and remarkable sculptures. His home had transformed into an exquisite art gallery, where we cherished our visits, spending countless hours immersed in music and engaging conversations. Badr embodied the spirit of Farafra Oasis, capturing every essence of the oasis, the surrounding desert, and its people through his artwork, which beautifully portrayed the faces of the original inhabitants of Farafra. May you rest in peace, my dear friend, and I eagerly await our reunion in the future.
