Herodotus,5th century AD
Herodotus states that at the Pyramid of Khafre the Nile flows through a built passage to an ISLAND in which Khufu is buried.[48] Hawass interprets this to be a reference to the "Osiris Shaft", which is located at the causeway of Khafre, south of the Great Pyramid.
