نستكمل الجلسة الثانية من المائدة المستديرة الأولى لورشة عمل تحت عنوان: "تحويل الالتزامات إلى أفعال: 15 عاماً على المبادئ التوجيهية للأمم المتحدة بشأن الأعمال التجارية و ".

حيث استعرض المتحدثين مدى امتثال الشركات عبر الوطنية لمبادئ الأمم المتحدة التوجيهية بشأن وحقوق الإنسان، وجاءت أبرز التصريحات كالتالي:

ماري ماينفيش-توبين، مستشارة تربوية وخبيرة في مجال الأعمال وحقوق الإنسان "إن مفهوم 'الأعمال التجارية وحقوق الإنسان' غائب عن أذهان الكثيرين، ولحمايته من شعارات 'الغسيل الاجتماعي' الزائفة، يجب أن نضع هذا الملف على رأس أولوياتنا."

جيرالد باشود، مدير شركة بلوتو للاستشارات وأستاذ ممارس في جامعة الدراسات الشرقية والأفريقية (SOAS) بلندن "القضية ليست مجرد نقاش تقليدي بين دول الشمال والجنوب، بل هي قضية أعمال تجارية بالدرجة الأولى. ما نحتاجه اليوم هو فرض الشفافية في قطاع الأعمال وصياغتها بآليات عملية وغير تصادمية."

آنا فيلالوبوس برادا، مسؤولة السياسات والمناصرة في مبادرة القطن الأفضل "الأمر لا يتعلق بتوجيه أصابع الاتهام وتحديد من هو المذنب، بل بإنهاء السلبية؛ فمن غير المقبول أنه عند رصد أي انتهاك، تتهرب الشركات وتطلب من المتضررين حل مشكلاتهم بمفردهم دون طرح حلول جذرية."

ورشة العمل بتنظيم مشترك من المدرسة السويسرية لإدارة الأعمال بجنيف (SSBM) ومؤسسة ماعت للسلام والتنمية وحقوق الإنسان، التحالف الدولي للسلام والتنمية (IAPD) واللجنة المستقلة لحقوق الإنسان في شمال أفريقيا (CIDH).

We continue with the second session of the first roundtable workshop entitled: "Transforming Commitments into Actions: 15 Years Since the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights."

The speakers reviewed the extent to which transnational corporations comply with the Guiding Principles on Business and . Key statements included:

Mary Mayenfisch-Tobin, Educational Counsellor & Business and Human Rights Expert: "The concept of 'business and human rights' is often overlooked, and to protect it from the false rhetoric of 'social laundering,' we must prioritize this issue."

Gerald Pachoud, Principal of Pluto Advisory & Professor of Practice at SOAS University of London: "This is not simply a traditional North-South debate; it is primarily a business issue. What we need today is to enforce transparency in the business sector and to implement it through practical and non-confrontational mechanisms."

Ana Villalobos Prada, Policy and Advocacy Officer, Better Cotton Initiative, said, “It’s not about pointing fingers and assigning blame, but about ending the passivity. It’s unacceptable that when a violation is detected, companies evade responsibility and tell those affected to solve their problems on their own without offering any real solutions.”

The workshop was jointly organized by the Swiss Business School Geneva (SSBM), Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights, the International Alliance for Peace and Development (IAPD), and the Independent Human Rights Commission of North Africa (CIDH).
