Idiom(s) of the day:
Here a list of commonly used idioms:
In touch- Ex- We'll be in touch. This means that we will talk soon.
Beat around the bush- Ex- Stop beating around the bush, and tell me what happened. This idiom is used when people aren't direct and give you lots of irrelevant information, instead of getting to the point.
Better late than never- Ex- Someone says "Sorry for being late." And, someone else replies "At least you came. Better late than never."
Break a leg is used mostly used by athletes, and actors and actresses. It's a way of wishing them well during their performance.
Get out of hand- this is used when a situation becomes chaotic. For example- if people go to an event but too many people show up and things become crazy, we would say that things are getting out of hand.
Call it a day- We use as a way to say that we are done working for the day. Ex- "Alright, it's 6 pm, let's call it a day".
Hang in there- We use this to motivate someone when they are feeling sad or down because they are going through a difficult time in their life.
