As part of the Egyptian-German Joint Committee on Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection (JCEE) —implemented by GIZ Egypt, and in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Environment, we are proud to have successfully delivered a two-day capacity-building workshop on GHG Inventory – Application of the IPCC Guidelines, on April 8–9, 2026 at Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah.
The workshop brought together key national stakeholders—including climate change units from various ministries and representatives of the Climate Change Central Department (CCCD)—to strengthen Egypt’s climate reporting framework. The workshop aimed to prepare the ministries for the upcoming UNFCCC BTR2 submission planned to be by December 2026.
The workshop enhanced technical capacities through hands-on learning, covering UNFCCC requirements and the application of the 2006 IPCC Guidelines and 2019 Refinement. Sessions addressed GHG inventory structure under the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF), Key Category Analysis (KCA), QA/QC, uncertainty assessment, data management, and the use of IPCC Inventory Software.
A key highlight was the sectoral case studies across Energy, IPPU, and AFOLU, where participants applied real-world emissions calculations, from data input to time-series analysis and reporting.
The workshop also enabled valuable dialogue on challenges in data availability, coordination, and reporting—supporting progress toward a more integrated national MRV system.
At Integral Consult, we remain committed to advancing transparent and robust climate reporting by combining technical expertise with practical implementation tools.

Integral Consult successfully delivered the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) public consultation for the Al Nahda Cement Factory Expansion Project, located in the industrial zone, southeast of Qena City. The public consultation event was attended by Major General Dr. Mustafa El-Biblawi, Governor of Qena, in addition to the Chairman of the General Authority for the Golden Triangle, Vice President of Qena University for Environmental Affairs, in addition to representatives of Ministry of Environment, group of undersecretaries of ministries, representatives of Al-Azhar and the Church, and multiple local community representatives.
The project involves increasing the annual cement production capacity from 1,500,000 tons to 2,105,263 tons, alongside a corresponding increase in annual coal consumption from 223,075 tons to 311,259 tons. This expansion represents a significant step in enhancing industrial capacity while maintaining environmental and social responsibility.
Our ESIA study focused on ensuring that the increase in production and coal usage is achieved without causing adverse environmental or social impacts. The assessment included a comprehensive analysis of project alternatives, identification of potential impacts, and development of effective mitigation measures to ensure compliance with national regulations and international best practices.
Through this work, Integral Consult continues to support sustainable industrial growth by balancing operational expansion with environmental protection and community well-being.
