I put this painting up in front of my desk and it’s helping with the homesickness

I guess i finally understand people who order portraits of their pets… it really heals smth within🫶🏻

You know what? I wasn’t even going to finish this painting.
Fear always paralyzes me; keeps me from trying new things, experimenting, or just being messy with my art

Sometimes I envy kids who just bash colors on paper with zero thought (yes, I’m jealous of toddlers, don’t @ me💀)

But this time? I pushed through. I painted this ocean for me. Not for commissions, not for clout, not for anyone else. Just. For. Me.🚶🏻‍♀️

For so long, even my art wasn’t about me; it was for the outside world. And realizing that? It hurt. Because art was supposed to be my safe space. My sanctuary really

So yeah, this might look like just an ocean. But to me, it’s freedom. It’s anger. It’s me finally taking up space— mistakes and all.

Wonky or not, it’s mine.
Heck i even left the stray paint in the margins as an act of rebellion against perfectionism😭

Personally, i love collecting art from my fav artists, especially limited pieces. It’s almost like i have a sacred piece of the ppl i truly admire. So it means the WORLD to me that you too feel the same way about me and my art
