Special Monorail Tour for Orascom Construction Employees
Recently, we organized a special Monorail tour for our employees. Hosted by members of the project team, the tour gave our people the opportunity to experience firsthand a project they helped deliver while celebrating the contribution of every member of our organization.
The East of Nile Monorail connects East Cairo to the New Administrative Capital, spanning 56 km with 22 stations and a depot. It forms part of Egypt’s 96 km monorail network, designed to transport up to 45,000 passengers per hour.
A proud journey through a landmark project made possible by the dedication, expertise, and teamwork of our people, each of whom played an important role in its success.
Another milestone achieved on Greater Cairo Metro Line 4 (CP411), Egypt
Orascom Construction, along with partners, continues to advance the railway systems, track, and depot works for Greater Cairo Metro Line 4 Phase 1, Package CP411. The depot in 6th of October City received the first train from Japan, marking an important milestone and demonstrating the depot’s operational readiness.
This phase spans 19 km and 17 stations, connecting central Greater Cairo to the Pyramids area in Giza.
In addition, we are also executing Package CP402 of Metro Line 4 Phase 1, which will run approximately 5.4 km underground from Giza to Fustat and connect with the existing Metro Lines 1 and 2, further building on our longstanding track record across multiple phases and all lines of Greater Cairo Metro since the 1980s.
