Dears,

We are glad to announce that Collaborative Research Cloud (CRC) will be hosting a new competition this year. CRC is funded by the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to build the first testbed federation in Egypt and the MENA region.

During this year competition, teams will be able to participate in one OR more tracks. A number of prizes will be awarded for the winning teams.

Tracks:

1- Wireless Communications (Alexandria University Testbed)

2- FPGA Programming (Cairo University Testbed)

3- IoT Development (Assiut University Testbed)

Eligibility:

The competition is open to all students and researchers across Egypt.

How to Apply:

Please fill in the registration form ( https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeEjGN2YyAdDP_3Li6cpac2qh9s8UEpBJ0FhRXTa1tkduCLVQ/viewform ) with the required information. After careful review, the eligible teams will be contacted in order to attend the training sessions for the testbed. Depending on the number of accepted teams, entrance hurdles my by required from the competing teams in each track.

The CRC testbed currently consists of a number of Software Defined Radio (SDR) nodes specifically: USRP B Series and X300. A powerful simulation server is also available for intensive calculations. FPGA Vertex and Zynq modules along with a number of Arduino and Raspberry PI microcontrollers are also available.

- The competition in Wireless Communications track will focus on the design of an Anti-Jamming transceiver. Teams will be responsible of a number of USRPs and will be required to transmit a certain message under various jamming patterns. The winning team will have the highest throughput. FPGA Programming will investigate the encryption algorithms and how they can be modelled on the available modules. Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the highest emerging technologies. During the competition, teams will investigate the interconnection between modules and will be responsible for specific scenarios setup.
