๐ Western Australian sunsets ๐
This is taken at Cottesloe beach - one of our preferred places to swim with our little daughter.

๐ Snaps from the most beautiful state of Australia ๐คญ
1-3: Rottnest island and its cute residents - quokkas.
4: The best way to get around Rottnest Island. Consider several hours to go around the island. Also, rent is almost half price after 1 PM ๐ฐ
5: Australian crows are something else - a little freaky and make the weirdest noise ๐
6: Happy hour with quokkas? Happy is the keyword here ๐
7: What beaches in WA look like. Might even say that some of the best beaches in Australia and in the world, are in WA.
8: View from a beach side cafe in Bunker Bay. Very beautiful secluded place.
9-10: Cohunu koala park. A bit run down in the recent years but for kids itโs great to see animals roaming around and learn about them. Weโd recommend Caversham wildlife park over this one if you must visit.
11: Coast in Cape Naturaliste.
12: Sunset at Cottesloe beach.

Singapore tips
๐ One of my favourite places in the whole of Australia ๐ซถ
This is Rottnest Island in Western Australia. The island got its name from Dutch explorers who thought these cute animals, quokkas, were rats - so they named it rat nest โRattenestโ. Today itโs known as Wadjemup in Noongar language (meaning a place of spirits).
You can take a ferry from several different ports in Perth, or Fremantle. And from August to November you may even spot whales migrating past the island.
The best way to explore is by bicycle, as the island is only 19 square kilometres, though thereโs also a bus. Bike rentals get cheaper after 1pm - the price drops from 33 to 18 AUD from 1PM. You can also rent a bike trailer for kids (but keep in mind, itโs for kids up to 104 cm).
The island is beautiful, clear water and good snorkelling, and fun to explore with family. Plus, quokkas are native to Western Australia and your best chance to ever see one in wild, is on Rottnest island. You can also spot several bird species and even seals playing in the water!
๐ Save this for your Australia trip.
๐ Singapore has many cool cafes and restaurants to visit, and this Chinatown cafe definitely stands out with its 2D interior.
Cafe Monochrome is actually Singaporeโs first 2D cafe. Located in a great spot in Chinatown too - kids will enjoy hanging out on that street under the shade.
๐The easiest way to get there - the cafe is located only a few minutes walk from Chinatown (as well as Maxwell) MRT stop.
๐ What to order - We recommend to try Laksa pasta and their ice coffees, but everything we tasted here was good and portions large.
๐ save this for when youโre in Singapore next!

๐ Karbala, Iraq ๐
The center of Karbala has 2 enormous shrine complexes facing each other across a huge plaza filled with pilgrims and visitors from all over the world.
For Shia Muslims, this is one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in the world.
Inside the shrine of Imam Husayn everything sparkles, itโs beautiful and overwhelming to witness thousands of people move through the halls praying and touching the shrine.
Really beautiful and also one of the most hectic places we ever experienced.
Note: This visit happened in January. With the current situation in the Middle East, now is not the time we recommend to travel to the area.
๐ Of course, these places are popular for a reason. But the truly exciting trips with our daughter always happen in the most unexpected places.
