| Ecuador enacts its first comprehensive cybersecurity framework 🛡️💻

Through the Organic Law for the Strengthening of Cybersecurity, published in Official Registry No. 290, Ecuador has introduced new cybersecurity requirements for private companies that provide digital services, essential services, or critical infrastructure.

• Digital Service Providers (DSPs) and critical infrastructure operators must implement cybersecurity and risk management measures

Mediante la Ley Orgánica para el Fortalecimiento de la Ciberseguridad, publicada en el Registro Oficial No. 290, Ecuador incorporó nuevas obligaciones en materia de ciberseguridad para empresas privadas que operan servicios digitales, servicios esenciales o infraestructura crítica.

Implicaciones clave:
• Los Prestadores de Servicios Digitales (PSD), proveedores de servicios esenciales y operadores críticos deberán implementar medidas de ciberseguridad y gestión de riesgos
• Los proveedores tecnológicos del Estado enfrentarán mayores exigencias contractuales y de cumplimiento
• Las empresas de hacking ético y pruebas de penetración deberán registrarse ante MINTEL y acreditar certificaciones técnicas

| A major shift in Ecuador’s public health procurement system 🏥📦

Through Executive Decree No. 393, Ecuador created AIL E.P., a new public company that will centralize procurement, logistics, infrastructure, and technology for the public health system.

Mediante el Decreto Ejecutivo No. 393, se creó AIL E.P., una nueva empresa pública que centralizará compras, logística, infraestructura y tecnología del sistema público de salud.
